(KRON) -- A missionary group from Antioch is home Sunday night after being stuck in Niger for a week. A military coup took over the government, which shut down the borders.KRON4 spoke with the lead pastors about everything it took to get them back. AUSTIN (KXAN) — The suspect in a shooting involving Austin Police officers was taken into custody just before midnight Sunday, according to APD. That suspect was taken to the hospital in an unknown condition. Sunday night, multiple sources told KXAN an Austin police officer was shot in a southeast Austin neighborhood and was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. That information was confirmed by Police Chief Joseph Chacon in a briefing early Monday morning. According to Chacon, two officers showed up to the suspect's home to conduct a welfare check. When they didn't hear from the person inside, they made entry into the front door and were confronted by someone with a gun, Chacon said.That suspect then followed the officers as they retreated outside and fired shots. One officer announced on the radio that they were shot, according to Chacon. Both Austin Police officers fired back, Chacon said. Three people were killed after two firefighting helicopters crashed mid-air while responding to a brush fire in Riverside County on Sunday night.The crash happened in a remote area near Pipeline Road and Apache Trail in Cabazon around 7:30 p.m., according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department. The Morongo Casino Resort & Spa is located about a mile away from the crash site.The three victims included a CAL FIRE division chief, a CAL FIRE fire captain, and a contract pilot, authorities confirmed in a Sunday night press conference.
