ST. LOUIS – Residents in a north St. Louis neighborhood are voicing concerns about the empty warehouse that caught fire Saturday evening. Many say the building has been a hub for seemingly criminal activity for years and hope it will now be demolished.More than 12 hours after the fire initially started, firefighters remained on-site Sunday morning. Although the fire was put out around 10 p.m. Saturday, firefighters stayed overnight and into the morning to hose down a few hotspots left over from the massive fire.“We heard some crackling, then when we looked up, we saw black smoke,” Darnell Gordon said.Cell phone video shows the warehouse engulfed, with fire shooting out of the vacant building, and a huge cloud of smoke that could be seen for miles around the region. CHARLES, Mo. – St. Charles Mayor Dan Borgmeyer says there is a growing homeless problem in his city, and they must get a handle on it.The mayor sought $10 million in ARPA pandemic funding to build a homeless center in St. Charles County, which would provide medical attention, as well as job-training skills, to the unhoused. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department held a Memorial Day roping event to honor fallen deputies Isaiah Cordero and Darnel Calhoun Sunday at the Riverside Rancheros Equestrian Center. The sheriff’s department’s mounted enforcement detail made a special appearance. ”We love our horses. We love our deputies and this was the best thing we could have right now,” Assistant Sheriff Dave Lelevier told KTLA. Families came out for food and fun and to watch the roping competitions. A very special leather saddle was the top prize in a raffle held during the event that raised some $8,000 for the families of the two deputies. SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) -- Have you seen her? A dog has been reported missing on Sunday, the San Francisco Police Department announced on Twitter. Bonnie, a 12-year-old Husky mix, was last seen outside of the Lucky Supermarket on Sloat Boulevard near Lake Merced. She has an orange leash and is described to be black and tan in color. PAONIA, Colo. (KDVR) -- Highway 133 leading into the North Fork Valley has been closed since late April due to a sinkhole in the middle of the road, and now it's affecting local businesses revenue. JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) -- Colorado State Patrol is asking for the public's help in locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run that killed one person on a scooter Saturday night.The crash was near Wadsworth Boulevard and West Coal Mine Avenue around 11:30 p.m."A red moped scooter was going south on Wadsworth Boulevard toward Coal Mine Avenue when it was hit by another vehicle," CSP Sergeant Troy Kessler said.After the crash, what investigators believe to be a Mazda, fled the scene and the victim left was left to die, CSP said.The scooter rider was hit by other passing motorists and died at the scene. 2 scenic mountain roads open for season CSP said the person riding the moped scooter was wearing a helmet at the time."Even though it's a serious situation it will always turn out better by staying on scene," Kessler said.
