Alexandria group to have ‘Bloody Camilla,’ ‘King Charles coffee’ drinks at predawn coronation party When King Charles III and Queen Camilla are crowned Saturday in London, a group of stylishly dressed women, wearing regal hats, fascinators and tiaras will gather at an Old Town Alexandria pub to watch the royal coronation.“In the last 200 years, there’ve been more solar eclipses than there have been coronations,” said Heidi Schneble, regent of the Alexandria-based Pimms and Poppies Chapter of the Daughters of the British Empire, a women’s group founded in 1909 dedicated to British heritage and in support of local charities.“Talk about the enthusiasm. Chief: Man stabbed, suspect killed during Denver police barricade DENVER (KDVR) — Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas said officers shot and killed a man who stabbed a family member while barricaded inside a home.Thomas said the man was holding two people in a room in the home near Montview Boulevard and Oneida Street. Officers first responded at about 8:30 p.m. and called on more resources and personnel, including an ambulance and crisis negotiators.By 9:30 p.m., shots were fired."While they were waiting for crisis negotiators to arrive, the suspect began assaulting one of the individuals being held inside with a knife," Thomas said. Burnt remains of adult male found in Valley Village While responding to reports of a vehicle fire in Valley Monday night, firefighters discovered the burnt remains an adult male, authorities announced.  The situation unfolded just before 9 p.m. in the 12600 block of West Riverside Drive.  At the scene, crews with the Los Angeles Fire Department worked to put out a vehicle fire at the rear of a two-story commercial building.  “As they quickly extinguished the burning sedan without damage to the structure, they discovered the burned remains of an adult male adjacent to the vehicle,” LAFD said in a news release. The burnt remains of an adult male were discovered May 1, 2023, in Valley Village, adjacent to a burned-out vehicle.
